TAN-PA PHILOSOPHY‘TAN-PA’ is a Burmese term, ‘TAN’ means iron and ‘PA’ means flower. Together, the term combines hard and soft methods. There are two logical aspects of ‘TANPA’, the Fighting Art Training and the Corporeal Training. Technically feasible optimum result could be attainable by combining seemingly reverse methods. The varying requirement sometimes of speed, harshness, firmness, stability, laxity of timing, etc. justify suitability of the method. In ‘TANPA’ philosophy, human body, mind and spirit work in unison. The hard method depends on body while the soft method depends on practice and exercise. This philosophy judges everything from practical point of view and takes impartial steps, an important feature of BUTTHAN. So, ‘TANPA’ philosophy implies hard hitting yet soft tackling method.
THE TANPA LOGOThe Tan-Pa logo contains the technical and the philosophical implications of BUTTHAN MARTIAL ART. Here, the eight sides of the octagon visible outside the logo are indicative of directions and two more unseen directions are upward and downward. These ten directions symbolize the ten offensive attacks from every side reminding of its Indian Tradition. The triangle indicates three major components of human functions, mind, body, and spirit. The circle indicates the unification of these three. The central flower with six petals symbolizes the six avenues of human being for receiving inputs, namely, taste, smell, touch, sound, vision feeling. |
